The rand became renowned for its luxurious scarves, ties and accessories – particularly its innovative use of printed velvet, a technique that set new standards in textile design.By the mid- 1980s, the company had expanded from its garage studio to boutiques in London’s Burlington Arcade and concessions in New York and Selfridges. Its pieces were carried in more than 400 stores worldwide, admired for their painterly designs, rich textures and bold colour palettes.Worn by figures such as Princess Diana, Elton John and The Rolling Stones, GvE embodied a blend of artistry and eccentric British glamour. The company also collaborated with major houses, producing fabrics for interior and fashion design. Though the original partnership concluded in 2006, Georgina von Etzdorf’s work endures in museum collections, continuing to influence textile innovation and luxury fashion.
